Hey bloggers,
Pre-teen/early teen makeup has always been a battle with girls and their mothers. Mothers don't think that girls are ever old enough to wear a lot of makeup, luckily, my mom was never like that, she always let me wear makeup that I wanted to wear. Most parents aren't the same as mine unfortunately. So here are a few tips to make your makeup look more natural and more acceptable by your mom/parents...
1. Always cleanse and moisturize your face, this gives you a "fresh start" to your makeup, this also helps reduce streaking and shiny/oily skin by lunch time.
2. There are many types of foundations out there, cream/liquid foundations are a little harder to use than powders or minerals. For pre-teens/early teens you are better off using a pressed powder or mineral powder. They are easiest to apply and you can reapply, if you need to, quite easily because you can carry them with you in your backpack or your purse.
3. Keep eyeshadow natural. As a base, you can apply a concealer if you are worried about dark circles and veins showing up under your shadow. Natural/neutral colors look best and are the most "goof-proof" shades. All you need is 2 colors, a medium or light color and a darker color. Apply the light shadow all over your lid and up to your brow, then take the darkest color and apply it to your crease, don't go very far in just concentrate the color on the outer corner and blend it all together.
4. Use a brown mascara or a clear mascara, if you have naturally black lashes you can use a black mascara. Don't worry about getting an expensive mascara, if you just want to darken your lashes especially, just go get one from your local drugstore. Just apply one coat of mascara to your lashes for instant subtle glam :)
5. You don't have to use an eyeliner, if you do use an eyeliner, however, make sure and not to connect the lines, just apply liner to half of your top lashline and the same half of your bottom lashline. Use brown or a soft black color, you don't want anything too dramatic. If you have small eyes, use a white eyeliner on your waterline on the bottom lashline (the wet/pink part)
6. For the last part, you can add a little color to your cheeks with just a regular blush brush. Depending on your skin tone, get a pink shade, it looks the most natural if you want a flush. If you want just a subtle glow, get a shade of peach. If you are fair skinned get a lighter color, if you are daker colored get a darker color, and if your in between get an in between color.
*7. Lips are optional, depending on what your mother will let you get away with. You can always just stick with your favorite lip balm or clear gloss. If your mother lets yo u get away with more, you can always opt for a light pink or sheer lipstick/gloss combo.
I really hope these tips help all of you pre-teens/early teen girls out there who may have questions about their makeup. Thanks for reading, send to all your other girls out there who may have the same questions as you do :)
Much Love,
